The Pula police have completed a criminal investigation into six men suspected of involvement in a violent clash that occurred in Vodnjan the day before yesterday, August 4, 2026. According to the report from the Istria Police Department, five men physically attacked two others, and during the attack, a gunshot was fired.
The report of the incident on Pian Street was received in the evening hours, around 7:45 PM. At the scene, it was established that five men, aged 42, 27, 23, 21, and 44, had attacked a 45-year-old and a 32-year-old. The perpetrators struck them with their fists and a bat, while threatening to kill them.
In the incident, the 45-year-old sustained serious injuries, while the 32-year-old only suffered minor injuries. Additional drama was caused by a 65-year-old who, according to police findings, fired a gun during the physical altercation on the street.
What further complicates the circumstances is the fact that the entire event took place in front of three children. Upon arriving at the scene, the police arrested all six suspects and took them into custody for criminal investigation.
After the investigation was completed, criminal charges were filed against five of the men on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm against the 32-year-old, grievous bodily harm against the 45-year-old, and threats. They are also charged with three counts of violating children's rights.
The 65-year-old is suspected of the criminal offense of endangering life and property by a dangerous act or means. All six individuals were handed over yesterday, August 5, 2026, in the evening, along with criminal charges, to the custody of the Istria Police Department.
