The footballer has announced a tough match ahead but believes in victory with fan support and full preparation.
Branko Pavić, a footballer, gave a confident statement ahead of tomorrow's clash against Ilves at Rujevica. He emphasized that his team must not underestimate the opponent, but with the right approach and support from the stands, the opponent has no business being there.
"We expect a tough and demanding match, but I believe that with the support of our fans and our 100% preparation for the game, they have nothing to look for at Rujevica, and we will show that on the pitch," Pavić told HRT on August 5, 2026.
Pavić revealed that the analysis of the Finnish team has already begun. "We've analyzed them a bit, tomorrow we'll go into more detail. The fact is, of course, a very good team. Every team at this stage of the competition is good and quality, physically very powerful, so it will certainly be difficult," he added.
He is aware that there are no easy opponents at this stage of the competition, but he emphasizes that experience from the previous European season can be valuable. Still, he cautiously notes that each season is a new chapter and nothing should be left to chance.
After arriving midway through last season, Pavić now feels much more secure in the team. "Last season was demanding at the start. And it wasn't to be expected that I would start playing right away. However, this season is different; I've already established myself in the team. I still try to prove myself every day and justify the coach's trust," he explained.
The goal is clear - to secure advancement already in the first match. "We will give our all to settle this two-legged tie at Rujevica. We'll try to create as big a goal difference as possible. But, as I said, with the help of the fans and preparation for the match, they have nothing to do there," Pavić concluded.
