After PSV blocked him in January, the 37-year-old Croatian international has a new chance for a sensational return to Milan.
The name of Ivan Perišić has once again surfaced on Inter Milan's transfer list. Renowned Italian insider Nicolò Schira reported that the experienced Croatian winger has been proposed to his former club, immediately reigniting fans' hopes of his return to Serie A.
A transfer attempt had already been made in early 2026. At that time, the 37-year-old was close to an agreement with the "Nerazzurri," but PSV refused to let go of one of their key players. According to information from Index.hr, the Dutch champions demanded a fee of several million euros, which brought negotiations to a standstill.
Perišić hasn't forgotten that episode. During the 2026 World Cup, he publicly admitted how much that missed move meant to him. "In January, I was very close to returning, but PSV didn't let me go. A return? That depends on the president and the sporting director. They know where I am; they just need to find me," he said at the time.
Although it's back on the table, it remains uncertain how the Italian giants will respond to this offer. It's unknown whether Inter is seriously considering his arrival or if formal talks have even begun. Perišić is under contract with PSV until the summer of 2027.
His first stint in Milan lasted from 2015 to 2022 and was highly productive. In 254 official appearances, he scored 55 goals and provided 50 assists, lifting trophies for the Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana.
After leaving Inter, Perišić wore the shirts of Tottenham and Hajduk Split before joining PSV in 2024. For the Dutch club, he has so far amassed 79 matches with a tally of 26 goals and 27 assists. In the 2025/26 season, he was once again a key cog in the team, scoring 10 goals and setting up 14 in 43 appearances.
