Plenković in Metković on Saturday: Here's What Awaits Him

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, will visit Metković. The central event of his visit to the Neretva Valley will be his presence at the start of the traditional race, the 29th Lađa Marathon.
The program begins at 2:30 PM with a meeting with local government leaders from the Neretva Valley area. The meeting is scheduled at the Metković City Administration offices, located at Stjepana Radića 1.
An hour later, at 3:30 PM, Prime Minister Plenković will meet with the leadership of the Neretva Lađari Association. The meeting will take place at the Association's premises on Ivana Gundulića Street 4. Following that, at 4:00 PM, a meeting with the lađari (boat rowers) is planned near the bridge in Metković.
The highlight of the visit is at 5:00 PM, when Plenković will attend the start of the 29th Lađa Marathon on the Neretva River.
Alongside the Prime Minister, several members of his cabinet will travel to Metković. The meeting will be attended by Branko Bačić, who serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets; Tomislav Ćorić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; and David Vlajčić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, along with Marija Vučković, Minister of Environment and Green Transition.
