Three Injured in Collision Near Dinjiška, 23-Year-Old Passenger Sustains Serious Injuries
A serious traffic accident occurred on state road DC106 on the island of Pag, near Dinjiška, on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:35 PM, injuring three people. The accident was caused by a 25-year-old driver who overtook in a prohibited area, the Zadar Police Department reported.
According to police information, the 25-year-old was driving a passenger car with Zagreb license plates, heading towards Pag. At one point, he began overtaking on a section of road where it is explicitly forbidden. He then collided with a passenger vehicle with Varaždin license plates in front of him, driven by a 72-year-old driver who was turning left at the time.
Following the violent collision, all three individuals were transported to Zadar hospital for further medical treatment. Doctors confirmed that the 23-year-old passenger from the car with Zagreb plates sustained serious physical injuries. The 72-year-old driver and a female passenger from the vehicle with Varaždin plates escaped with minor injuries.
The Zadar Police Department has announced that a criminal investigation will be conducted to determine all the exact circumstances that led to this traffic accident with serious consequences.
