Two-time European champions Paris Saint-Germain officially confirmed on Thursday evening what had been anticipated in football circles for days. Maghnes Akliouche, a 24-year-old attacking midfielder and French international, is the new player for the Parisian club. The transfer from AS Monaco was completed for €50 million.
The news was first exclusively reported by Fabrizio Romano, who revealed on Wednesday afternoon that Akliouche had landed in Paris to formally sign the contract. The player was accompanied by his agents from HCM Sports Management, Hasan Cetinkaya and Jaspal Singh Gill. The agreement between the clubs was reached last week, with all details of the collaboration finalized on Wednesday.
PSG confirmed in an official statement that Akliouche has signed a contract lasting until 2031. During his unveiling, he wore the number 11 shirt, which he will don throughout his Parisian adventure. Fabrizio Romano reports that Akliouche exclusively wanted to move to PSG, which further expedited negotiations.
Akliouche, who represented France at the World Cup, is PSG's first significant signing since becoming two-time European champions. Alongside him, the Parisian club also brought in young Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni, but the arrival of the French international is undoubtedly the most high-profile summer deal. The official photo of the new player in PSG's shirt was taken by photographer Johnny Fidelin from the Icon Sport agency.
