The Croatian actor, known for his role as a priest in 'Zabranjena ljubav', has accepted a new role in the series 'U dobru i zlu' on Nova TV and spoke about his long theater hiatus from the small screen.
Croatian actor Robert Plemić, who viewers remember for his role as the controversial priest Luka Laušić in the popular soap opera 'Zabranjena ljubav', has returned to the small screen after a full 15 years away. The actor, who recently celebrated his 56th birthday, has accepted the role of caring father Drago Šimata in the series 'U dobru i zlu' on Nova TV, and many viewers did not initially recognize him.
The character of Luka Laušić from 'Zabranjena ljubav' remains one of the most memorable characters in Croatian television production. The priest who fell in love with Iva and considered leaving the priesthood, only to ultimately stick with his choice, attracted significant viewer attention and sparked numerous discussions. Besides 'Zabranjena ljubav', Plemić was also noticed in the series 'Najbolje godine', where he had a smaller role as the doctor of the main character Lorena Levaj.

"All these years I was exclusively focused on theater. I wouldn't say I'm excited, but I do enjoy this change. I love theater, the process of creating a role is ever more dear to me, and the challenges that theater work brings. However, I feel that I've had my fill of theater a bit. When I say that out loud, everyone says, well, that's normal. It was intense, demanding - theater is a demanding medium. This engagement on Nova TV is certainly welcome," Plemić told Dnevnik.hr.
Theater, according to his words, is an extremely demanding medium that requires complete dedication. The intensity of that work, which he described as exhausting but also extremely valuable, over time led him to a point where he was ready to accept a new challenge and turn to television.
Alongside the professional side, Plemić also spoke about his private life, which he usually carefully guards from the public. He has been married to his wife Suzana, whom he affectionately calls Suzi, for 22 years, and together they have two sons, Bard and Moris.
"I don't talk about my private life in public. I keep it within our four walls. I've been married to Suzi for twenty-two years and we have two children. Two sons, Bard and Moris. Yes, she is my greatest support. Her opinion is the most important to me, because we've been together so long that we can be absolutely honest. The four of us are a team," the actor emphasized.
