The summer transfer window is in full swing, and one of the biggest questions has finally been answered. Mohamed Salah, until recently a Liverpool player, is on the verge of signing for Turkish club Trabzonspor. An agreement between the Egyptian winger and the club has been reached, but one final detail remains pending before the transfer is officially announced.
According to information from Index.hr, Salah has agreed to a two-year contract with Trabzonspor. His base annual salary will be €17 million, and with bonuses, that figure could rise to as much as €22 million. In addition, the Egyptian will receive 20 percent of revenue from shirt sales bearing his name, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league.
Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, as reported by Goal.com, revealed that an agreement between the player and the club has been reached, but there is still one item awaiting Trabzonspor's approval before the Egyptian officially puts pen to paper. Salah reportedly preferred to stay in Turkey despite lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, where Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, Al-Qadsiah, and Al-Diriyah all wanted him.
Leaving Liverpool marks the end of an era. Salah played for the Reds for nine years, from 2017 to 2026, and during that period won two Premier League titles, as well as one Champions League, Super Cup, Europa League, and FIFA Club World Cup. Trabzonspor will thus become the seventh club of his professional career.
RB Leipzig officially confirmed on Tuesday the return of Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland. The 35-year-old, who reached the World Cup quarter-finals with Norway, has signed a contract until 2028. Nyland arrived as a free agent after his contract with Sevilla expired. "When the opportunity to return to RB Leipzig arose, I didn't have to think twice. I have many fond memories of the club and the people here, and I'm really looking forward to reuniting with them," said Nyland, who has earned 76 caps for his national team.
Bayer Leverkusen is working intensively on bringing back Moussa Diaby. The French winger currently plays for Saudi club Al-Ittihad, and according to Kickers, Bayer is negotiating his return. Bayer sold Diaby to Aston Villa in 2023 for €55 million, only for him to move to Al-Ittihad a year later in a deal worth €60 million. His contract with the Saudi club runs until 2029.
In Italy, there is growing speculation about Rafael Leão possibly staying at Milan. The Portuguese international expressed a desire to leave at the end of last season, but according to the latest reports, he is not impressed by offers from Turkey, where Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Beşiktaş wanted him. His contract with the Rossoneri runs until June 2028.
There's also excitement in Paris, where Paris Saint-Germain rejected Liverpool's €100 million offer for star player Bradley Barcola. The French champions are asking for nearly double that amount for their player, namely €170 million.
