Croatian singer Severina held a concert in Bjelovar on August 6, 2026, and used the performance to address the audience on a topic that transcends music. At one point, she paused and delivered a powerful message about the importance of acknowledging the genocide committed in Srebrenica.
Addressing those gathered, she clearly stated that confronting the past is a prerequisite for any genuine progress in the region. "When we acknowledge what happened in Srebrenica. Without that, there's no moving forward. When we all acknowledge it, especially some over there, then we will be happy and joyful states," Severina said, and her words were met with thunderous applause from those present.
