Supetar Celebrates Victory Day: Rich Program and Fireworks

The cities of Split and Supetar are once again organizing a rich two-day program to mark Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Veterans Day, and the 31st anniversary of the military-police operation Storm. The celebrations will take place on August 4 and 5, 2026, and the program includes ceremonial parades, concerts by renowned performers, a Croatian Army equipment presentation, and the traditional fireworks display.
The program in Split begins on Tuesday, August 4, with paying tribute to fallen veterans. Wreaths and flowers will be laid at the Lovrinac city cemetery and in the Croatian Veterans Park. A thanksgiving Mass will be held at 7 PM at the Church of Our Lady of Health.
The central part of the observance on the Riva begins at 8:30 PM, preceded by a ceremonial parade of Croatian veterans carrying war flags. The parade will feature the brass band of the Croatian Cultural Society "Stjepan Radić" and the Majorettes of the City of Split. At 9 PM, the Revue Orchestra "To the Homeland with Love" will perform on the Riva.
Throughout the day, from 10 AM to 8 PM, citizens will have the opportunity to view the missile corvette RTOP-12 "Kralj Dmitar Zvonimir" on the West Bank. At the Croatian Army Info Zone, open from 10 AM to 6 PM, those interested can speak with Croatian Army members and learn more about the military vocation, educational opportunities, and career development within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia.
The observance continues on Wednesday, August 5. At 9:30 PM, the band Prljavo Kazalište will hold a concert on the Riva, followed by a ceremonial fireworks display at 10:30 PM from Gata sv. Nikole. On the same day at 9 PM, the opera "Nikola Šubić Zrinjski" by Ivan pl. Zajc will be performed at the playground of the Tourism and Hospitality School.
The City of Supetar is also preparing a special program. At 9:30 PM on Tuesday, August 4, the klapa group Cambi from Kaštel Kambelovac will perform a concert in front of the parish church. The main musical event, starting at 9:30 PM on Wednesday, August 5, in Ivan Rendić Park, will feature performances by the Brassčuta Orchestra, Klapa Turanj, and the Women's Vocal Group Alegrija. The evening will conclude at 10:05 PM with fireworks in honor of Victory Day.
"We invite all residents of Supetar, the island of Brač, and our guests to join us in jointly marking a day that reminds us of the value of freedom, unity, and gratitude to all who participated in the creation and defense of the Croatian state," reads a statement from the City of Supetar.
The City of Split has also invited citizens and visitors to join the commemorative program and pay tribute to Croatian veterans.
