On the A3 motorway, at the 179th kilometer between the Lužani and Nova Gradiška interchanges, a serious traffic accident occurred on Sunday morning, injuring several people. According to Dnevnik.hr, the accident happened at 7:23 AM on the northern carriageway in the direction of Bregana, involving one vehicle.
Firefighters also responded to the scene, and the injured were transported by emergency medical vehicles to two hospitals for medical treatment. As reported by Dnevnik.hr, these are the Slavonski Brod General Hospital and the Nova Gradiška General Hospital.
Portal 24sata reports a statement from an unidentified witness at the scene who briefly described the scene. "It's bad, the engine fell out of the car..." the witness told 24sata. Details about the condition of the injured are not yet known.
Due to the ongoing investigation, traffic on this section of the motorway is moving slowly, with only one lane open and a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour, reports Regionalni Slavonija. On the DC53 state road, also known as the Western Link Road in Slavonski Brod, traffic is difficult due to temporary traffic management currently in place.
There is also increased traffic at border crossings. Regionalni Slavonija reports that at the Slavonski Brod border crossing, both entering and leaving Croatia, drivers are waiting up to an hour, and it is similar at the Maljevac border crossing. At the Tovarnik border crossing, waiting times on both sides of the border are up to three hours, while at the Bajakovo border crossing, both entry and exit, waits extend up to four hours.
