The concert "Vukovar, Together for the Future" will take place on August 29, with all proceeds after expenses donated to complete the Salesian student dormitory in Zagreb and build the Stadium of 12 Croatian Police Officers.
Marko Perković Thompson will hold a major concert in Vukovar at the end of August with a strong humanitarian purpose. The event, titled "Vukovar, Together for the Future," is scheduled for August 29, 2026, and organizers say that after covering all organizational costs, the entire profit will be directed toward two projects.
The funds raised will go toward completing the Salesian student dormitory in Zagreb and the donation campaign "You Are Vukovar Too," which finances the construction of the Stadium of 12 Croatian Police Officers in the host city.
"Vukovar holds a special place in the heart of the Croatian people. I am glad we will gather again in the hero city, but this time with the goal of doing something good together. I invite all people of good will to join us, to help through song, faith, and unity complete the Salesian student dormitory in Zagreb and support the construction of the Stadium of 12 Croatian Police Officers. I believe that together we can leave a mark that will benefit future generations," Thompson said.
Vukovar Mayor Marijan Pavliček emphasized the symbolic importance of holding the concert in his city. "Vukovar is a city that preserves the memory of its past but equally builds its future. It is a great honor that our city will host an event that, besides gathering tens of thousands of people, also has a noble cause," Pavliček said.
He called on everyone to show the strength of unity and solidarity and to support the completion of the student dormitory and the stadium campaign.
From the company Infinite Show d.o.o., co-organizers of the concert, they emphasize that the project was conceived from the start as more than a musical event. "We wanted to bring people together around a common goal and show that music can be a driver of good deeds. We believe this evening will leave a lasting impression, not only in the memories of attendees but also through support for the completion of the Salesian student dormitory in Zagreb and the donation campaign 'You Are Vukovar Too,'" the organizers said.
The Provincial of the Croatian Salesian Province, Don Milan Ivančević, thanked everyone who recognized the value of the initiative. "The student dormitory in Zagreb will be a place where many young people from all over Croatia will find a home during their studies. We are grateful to the organizers, the City of Vukovar, Marko Perković Thompson, and everyone who recognized the value of this initiative," he stated.
The organizers invite citizens of Croatia and the Croatian diaspora to support both projects by attending. Tickets will be available for purchase starting August 7 at noon on the Sportify Events platform, and for Vukovar residents, in-person sales will also be available at the Birthplace of Lavoslav Ružička.
