Marko Perković Thompson, ahead of his major concert at Šubićevac Stadium in Šibenik, scheduled for August 4, 2026, has revealed the song that will open the performance. As he confirmed on his official Facebook profile, the concert will begin with the legendary 'Bojna Čavoglave'.

More Than Three Decades of Tradition

Thompson explained that this choice is no accident but rather a tradition spanning over three decades. "As part of the Operation Storm commemorations, I have opened every concert since 1995 with 'Bojna Čavoglave,' and it will be the same this year in Šibenik," the singer wrote.

For him, this song carries profound symbolism. "To me, this song symbolizes the time when we defended, liberated, and freed Croatia during the Military-Police Operation Storm," he added in a post reported by Tportal and Index.hr.

'It's How We Built Our Nation'

In his emotional post, Thompson further elaborated on the song's significance, highlighting its role in the creation of modern Croatia. "It serves as a lasting reminder of the courage of Croatian defenders against Yugoslav-communist and Serbian fascism, and it embodies the values and freedom upon which the modern Croatian state is founded," he stated.

He concluded with these words: "With 'Bojna Čavoglave,' we built our nation, and with it, we will celebrate our victories. That's why we'll open our concert in Šibenik, a hero city, with this song."

Organizational Guidelines for Attendees

Alongside the announcement, Thompson's team released important information for everyone heading to Šubićevac Stadium. Gates will open at 5 PM, and the audience is encouraged to arrive in Šibenik during the morning to avoid traffic congestion.

In cooperation with the City of Šibenik, parking is available at the Podi Industrial Zone, with organized shuttle buses running to the stadium, as well as parking at the TEF site. Organizers ask attendees to arrive early to ensure a safe and smooth entry process.

Firefighters have also issued a special appeal, asking that, due to high temperatures, dry conditions, and increased fire risk, no pyrotechnics be used or ignited, especially in parking areas and on unpaved surfaces.

After Šibenik: Imotski and Vukovar

This will be Thompson's first concert in Šibenik in over a decade. His last performance there was in 2013, at a charity concert for the construction of the Catholic Student Residence.

Following the Šibenik show, Thompson's tour continues. On August 8, 2026, he will perform at Gospin Dolac Stadium in Imotski, and on August 29, 2026, he is scheduled to play at the Gospodarska zona in Vukovar.
