A serious traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in the village of Šljivoševci near Donji Miholjac, ended tragically. A minor passenger on a motorcycle died the same afternoon at the Našice General County Hospital from sustained injuries.
According to the report from the Osijek-Baranja Police Department, the accident happened around 11:55 a.m. on Kolodvorska Street. The minor rider was operating a motorcycle with Virovitica license plates, traveling in a west-to-east direction. Behind him, another minor was riding as a passenger.
At one point, the rider lost control of the vehicle, and both individuals veered into a drainage canal. Both minors were rushed to the hospital in Našice.
Despite the doctors' efforts, the minor passenger succumbed to his injuries at 5:25 p.m. The motorcycle rider sustained minor injuries in the accident. Police administered a breathalyzer test, confirming that the rider was not under the influence of alcohol, and both minors were wearing protective helmets at the time of the crash.
An investigation will determine all the circumstances that led to this tragedy.
