The popular satirical page targeted a bizarre goal from the match between Istra and Varaždin.
The popular online community Troll Football, known for its satirical coverage of football events, mocked SuperSport HNL on its social media platform X (Twitter). The reason was an unusual goal scored in the match between Istra 1961 and Varaždin, played in March 2026.
The match was part of the 27th round of SuperSport HNL, held at Pula's Stadion Aldo Drosina, and ended with a 2:1 victory for the home side, Istra. The key moment came in the 80th minute when Istra's midfielder, Josip Radošević, decided to shoot from distance. His ground shot wouldn't have posed much danger had the ball not bounced off an uneven patch on the pitch.
That unpredictable bounce completely deceived the visiting goalkeeper, Oliver Zelenika, lifting the ball over him and into the net for the final 2:1. It was precisely this bizarre goal that became the subject of mockery on Troll Football's profile, which is followed by nearly 400,000 people.
Alongside the video of the controversial goal, the post on X was accompanied by a sarcastic comment: "This is the first league in Croatia...". This brief description further highlighted the absurdity of the situation and, in a satirical manner, commented on the quality of conditions in the Croatian football championship.
The whole situation quickly drew attention, and you can watch the goal in the attached clip of 7 minutes and 37 seconds, which shows the entire build-up and the unfortunate intervention by the visiting goalkeeper.
