89 Marijuana Plants and an Arsenal of Ammunition Seized in Baranja and Osijek

Police officers in the Baranja and Osijek areas conducted two separate operations during which a veritable small marijuana farm was discovered. A total of 89 plants of this drug were found, along with a significant quantity of already dried flower tops, digital scales, and a concerning amount of ammunition. Criminal charges will be filed against four male suspects.
The first operation took place on August 4, 2026, in the wider Beli Manastir area. A criminal investigation by the Beli Manastir Police Station established reasonable suspicion that a 38-year-old and a 51-year-old committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of drugs.
Based on a warrant from the Municipal Court in Osijek, police searched the home and other premises used by the 38-year-old. The search yielded eight marijuana plants with a total weight of 363 grams and two digital scales. On the same day, a search of the 51-year-old's premises uncovered as many as 64 marijuana plants and another digital scale.
Both will be subject to criminal charges filed with the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Osijek.
The following day, August 5, 2026, the Criminal Police Sector of the Osijek-Baranja Police Department launched a search for a duo from the Osijek area. At the premises of a 41-year-old and a 24-year-old, a veritable small laboratory and weapons cache were found. In addition to suspicion of unauthorized production and trafficking of drugs, they are also charged with enabling drug consumption.
During the search, police officers seized 283.8 grams of marijuana flower tops, an additional 0.6 grams of marijuana, and 17 plants. However, the surprises did not end there. Also confiscated were 24 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition, and one magazine.
The police further determined that the 24-year-old also committed a misdemeanor under the Law on the Acquisition and Possession of Weapons by Citizens. Consequently, in addition to the criminal charges, a mandatory misdemeanor order will be issued against him. For the other three suspects, criminal charges will be filed with the competent state attorney's office.
