Summary
  • Free STEM workshops for elementary school students will be held in Split and Dicmo from August 26 to September 1.
  • The workshops cover robotics, programming, and drone piloting, totaling 20 school hours.
  • Spots are limited (30 in Split, 16 in Dicmo), with applications open until August 25 at 12 PM.
  • The FAUST project is led by the Young Roboticists of Split Association with support from EU funds and the national budget.

As the new school year approaches, elementary school students in Split-Dalmatia County have the chance to participate in two new cycles of free STEM workshops. The FAUST project, also known as the FPV Academy in Split, organizes educational sessions in robotics, programming, and drone piloting. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible, as the number of spots is strictly limited.

Five Days of Hands-On Work with Modern Technology

The workshops will take place from August 26 to September 1, 2026, totaling 20 school hours. Over five thematic units, participants will master the basics of robotics and programming, create applications, and learn to pilot drones. All interested students from grades 1 to 8 can step into the world of science and technology completely free of charge, as the project is co-financed by the European Union and the national budget of the Republic of Croatia.

The schedule is fixed: workshops will be held on August 26, 27, 28, and 31, and September 1, each day from 9 AM to 12 PM. The goal is to foster the development of digital, technical, and creative skills in children through hands-on work, experiments, and the use of modern equipment.

Two Locations, Limited Capacity

The organizers have planned two locations for the workshops. In Split, the 21st cycle will take place at Split 3 Elementary School, located at Bruna Bušića 6, with a maximum of 30 participants. Simultaneously, the 22nd cycle will be organized at Ante Starčevića Elementary School in Dicmo, at Kraj 42, where capacity is limited to 16 participants.

Application Deadline and Project Background

The public call for applications is open until August 25, 2026, at 12 PM, with submissions made through the official FAUST project website. Due to the limited number of spots, organizers recommend that parents submit their applications as soon as possible. If there is high demand, participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, and capacity may be increased if enough mentors are available.

The Young Roboticists of Split Association, together with the Center of Excellence of Split-Dalmatia County, CARNET, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, is implementing the FAUST project, designated as SF.2.4.06.04.0023. The project also involves Ante Starčevića Elementary School in Dicmo, Ivana Mažuranića Elementary School in Obrovac Sinjski, and Žnjan-Pazdigrad Elementary School in Split.
