Ukraine's Security Service confirmed damage to the 'Balaklava' and 'Kerch' vessels and a fire at the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in Yaroslavl.
Ukrainian forces carried out a series of coordinated drone strikes on Russian naval and energy targets, Ukraine's Security Service (SSU) said on Thursday. The attacks damaged two patrol boats of the Russian FSB coast guard in occupied Kerch and sparked a major fire at the Slavneft-Yanos oil refinery in the city of Yaroslavl.
As a result of the drone attack on the port area in Kerch, in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, two Project 10410 patrol boats, also known as the 'Svetlyak' class, sustained damage. The vessels, named 'Balaklava' and 'Kerch', belong to the coast guard of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB).

Meanwhile, the SSU also reported on the aftermath of the strike on the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in Yaroslavl, which was earlier confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to preliminary information, four RVS-2000 crude oil tanks were damaged, leading to an oil spill, and two tanks caught fire.
"According to preliminary information, four RVS-2000 tanks with crude oil were damaged, causing a spill. Two tanks were engulfed in flames. Additionally, key processing units ELOU-1 and AVT-3 were damaged, and fires also broke out there," the SSU statement said.
These strikes are part of a broader Ukrainian effort to weaken Russian military and energy infrastructure. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the morning of August 6, 2026, that during August 5 and the night of August 5-6, 2026, Ukraine's defense forces also hit the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Ufa and two ground relay nodes used by Russian forces to control attack drones.
