In a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on three warehouses across Russia overnight on August 4, 2026, five people were killed and ten others were injured, according to local officials. Among the affected facilities were two warehouses of the major online retailer Wildberries, often described as Russia's answer to Amazon.
The most severe consequences were recorded in the town of Chekhov in the Moscow region, an area with 22 million residents. Governor Andrei Vorobyov confirmed that a drone attack sparked a fire at an unnamed warehouse there, resulting in five deaths and ten injuries.
Meanwhile, in the Tver region, northwest of Moscow, drones damaged another Wildberries warehouse. Acting regional governor Vitaly Korolyov stated that no injuries were reported in that incident. A third attack occurred in the town of Krasny Bor in the Leningrad region, where a Wildberries complex covering 154,000 square meters was set ablaze, making it the company's sixth-largest warehouse. Wildberries confirmed the fire at its facility near St. Petersburg, adding that there were no casualties there.
Wildberries, a key link in Russia's consumer economy, has been a frequent target of Ukrainian attacks since July 18, 2026. According to available information, more than a dozen locations of the company have been hit since that date. Wildberries' founder and CEO, Tatyana Kim, strongly condemned the attacks, calling them "acts of terrorism."
Kyiv presents this series of strikes as part of a broader campaign aimed at making the consequences of the war felt in the daily lives of ordinary Russians. These latest attacks further underscore Ukraine's ability to target objectives deep within Russian territory, inflicting damage on vital parts of the economy.
