A shocking attack on a minor boy from Zagreb occurred in Supetar on the island of Brač. Two young men physically assaulted him at a catering establishment on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at around 7:30 PM, confirmed the Split-Dalmatia Police Department.
According to a family member of the attacked boy, the minor was sitting quietly and eating when two young men approached him. The attackers, she claims, did not know him, and there had been no prior conflict or provocation. "He was eating peacefully, and they came up to him, knocked him to the floor, and started hitting him with their hands and feet on his head, neck, and back," the family member told 24sata.
The restaurant staff quickly reacted and rushed to help, preventing the injuries from being more severe. "The staff saved him by quickly running over. They were hitting him all over his body. He sustained minor injuries," added the reader, who is also a family member of the minor, for Slobodna Dalmacija.
The Split-Dalmatia Police Department confirmed they received a report about the incident. "Two younger male individuals physically attacked another person," the police stated, adding that a criminal investigation is underway to determine all circumstances of the event. The motive for the attack has not been officially confirmed, nor have the identities of those involved been released.
The family of the attacked boy suspects that the reason for the attack could be his origin, specifically that he is from Zagreb. The boy had arrived in Supetar only two days before the attack and had no disagreements with locals during his stay. More information will be known after the criminal investigation is completed.
