Croatia is set for another day of scorching heat, with temperatures soaring, especially in Dalmatia and the far south, where the mercury could approach critical levels. According to the forecast from the State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ), as reported by Novi list, maximum daily temperatures will mostly range between 34 and 39°C.

Morski portal reports that in sunny Dalmatia and the far south of the country, afternoon temperatures will reach between 32 and 37°C, with local peaks possibly nearing 40 degrees. The heat on the coast will be somewhat tempered by a moderate daytime sea breeze from the southwest.

The morning brought noticeably more pleasant temperatures inland, ranging from 14 to 19°C. In contrast, nights and mornings on the coast and islands remain uncomfortably warm. Morski reports readings of 23 to 29°C along the Adriatic, while the far south, with a light bura, sees temperatures between 23 and 28°C.

Local Showers in Istria and Inland

Although sunny weather will prevail, there is a slight chance of rain bringing some relief. In the afternoon, isolated cloud development is expected in inland Istria and central regions, which could lead to brief local showers. DHMZ also forecasts a small chance of a local afternoon shower in inland Dalmatia.

Strong Bura with Gusts Under Velebit Tonight

A change in weather arrives during the night. A moderate to strong bura will pick up in the northern and parts of the central Adriatic. As Morski warns, gusty bura winds are expected at the foot of Velebit, prompting recommendations for extra caution for drivers on coastal roads. According to DHMZ, the bura will shift to a southwest wind by midday on the Adriatic, but will strengthen again in the evening.

Even the start of next week shows no signs of a significant weather shift. As the DHMZ meteogram for the Rijeka area, reported by Novi list, indicates, a slight drop in temperatures is expected only midweek, but the weather will remain sunny and warm, with no prospects of rain.
