After more than eight years, the Croatian national basketball team will once again play in Zadar's Krešimir Ćosić Arena. The team led by head coach Tomislav Mijatović will open the second round of FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 8:00 PM, with Latvia as their opponent.
Zadar will thus be the stage for an evening of special emotions, in a city that lives basketball every day. Croatia's last appearance in Krešin dom ended in a victory over the Netherlands, and Mijatović's squad now hopes for the same outcome. A win against Latvia would be a major step toward securing a spot at the world championship, which will be held in Qatar in 2027.
Croatia faces an extremely demanding schedule. Just three days after the home clash with Latvia, on August 30, 2026, they travel to the Netherlands. Every win in this cycle could prove decisive in the race for one of the three spots that lead to the World Cup, as reported by Antena Zadar.
Ahead of the big basketball spectacle, ticket sales began two days ago. Fans can secure their seats at promotional prices valid until Monday, August 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Prices are set by category:
Other ticket categories will go on sale after this promotional phase ends.
Antena Zadar emphasizes that Zadar has shown countless times what a true basketball atmosphere looks like, and now is the time for Krešin dom to be filled to the last seat and carry the national team to victory in the opening match of the qualifying cycle.
