Zagreb residents can expect an exceptionally hot day on Monday, August 3, 2026. According to the latest forecast from the State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ), the maximum daily air temperature will reach 36°C, making the afternoon hours in the city streets particularly stifling.
Although the day will be very warm, the morning will be noticeably more pleasant. The DHMZ predicts the minimum air temperature will range between 17 and 21°C. However, a rapid rise in temperature will follow, and with no significant wind gusts expected, there will be no relief even in the shaded parts of the city.
The heat will be most intense during the midday and afternoon hours. Citizens are advised to wear light clothing, stay well hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Extra caution is recommended for the elderly, children, and those with chronic conditions, especially when moving across sun-heated urban surfaces.
Winds will be mostly light throughout the day, meaning they will not significantly alleviate the feeling of mugginess.
