In a traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Ludbreg area, a 39-year-old Ukrainian national was injured. The accident happened around 3:15 PM on the county road connecting Slokovec and Kapela Podravska, and the driver was rushed to Varaždin General Hospital.
According to the police report, the woman was driving a passenger car from the direction of Slokovec. Upon entering a sharp right curve, she lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed. Upon entering a sharp right curve, due to speed not adapted to the road's characteristics and condition, visibility, sightlines, weather conditions, and the vehicle's condition, she skidded and veered off the road to the right," police reported to ePodravina.
After leaving the roadway, the car ended up in a roadside ditch and low vegetation, where it overturned. The driver sustained injuries and was given medical assistance at Varaždin General Hospital. The severity of her injuries will be determined later.
