Google has released a new test version of the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 operating system on supported Pixel devices. Along with bug fixes, this update also introduces new features, with expanded customization options for the Quick Settings menu standing out in particular.
Android 17 gets a new Quick Settings layout editor that allows users to arrange almost all toggles and settings to their liking. Specifically, users can choose which quick settings appear as larger elements, and they can also move the screen brightness slider and the music player.
More customization options are expected in the final version of Android 17. These include an option to adjust the hue of four primary colors using a slider, as well as additional blur effects. These options will further expand the visual customization of the interface.
In addition to visual changes, the update also brings features for protection during phone calls. These help users avoid scams that use social engineering, through additional confirmation dialogs that appear during calls involving call forwarding.
