The maker of the AI model Claude has an annual growth rate of 800 percent, and investors expect a historic IPO as early as this fall.
American startup Anthropic, the creator of the AI model Claude, could break all records in the history of initial public offerings (IPOs) on the U.S. and global capital markets as early as this fall. Investors predict that the company will be valued at least two trillion dollars when it goes public, which would surpass SpaceX's offering from June, as reported by Poslovni dnevnik, citing the Financial Times.
Some investors believe that, due to the rapid increase in revenue, the company led by Dario Amodei could be valued even higher. Given the current growth pace, the company could achieve a market capitalization of as much as three trillion dollars.
Investor optimism is based on concrete figures. "If Anthropic is growing 800 percent annually, even with a very conservative estimate, it would be worth 30 times annual revenue. That would make it a company valued at three trillion dollars," one investor told the Financial Times.
During 2026, Anthropic raised nearly 100 billion dollars from venture funds, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional investors. In May, the company's market value was estimated at 965 billion dollars, further confirming the upward trajectory.
Nevertheless, investor optimism is accompanied by a series of challenges. Anthropic faces increased competition from Chinese AI companies offering much cheaper options, regulatory pressures in the U.S., and disagreements with the American administration. The temporary ban on exporting the most advanced models in June reduced revenue growth and caused concern among some business users, although investors claim the company quickly recovered.
At the same time, customers are becoming increasingly sensitive to the costs of using artificial intelligence. Anthropic's most advanced models are priced more than 2.5 times higher than leading OpenAI solutions, while competition from China offers technologically increasingly close but cheaper alternatives.
Despite the challenges, markets remain convinced that the company has a technological edge in the race against OpenAI and Google. "It's easy to list the challenges, but the company is still first in model quality, market position, and what investors want to be exposed to," one of Anthropic's investors told the Financial Times.
Anthropic has not yet defined a target valuation for its stock market debut. According to the Financial Times, management has not provided specific figures in discussions with existing investors, so estimates of at least two trillion dollars come solely from the investment models of the largest shareholders.
