Croatian musician Baby Lasagna released his new single 'Face On Your Phone' on August 7, 2026. It is the third track from his upcoming album, marking a departure from his previous releases with a heavier, modern metal sound and a direct message aimed at combating online harassment.
Marko Purišić, his real name, uses the song to address the consequences of living under constant public scrutiny and the anonymity provided by social media. In a statement to the press, he revealed how deeply this period has affected him.
"For the past two and a half years, I've been living under the public's microscope. It has brought me many wonderful things that have changed my life, but also a lot of negative comments and messages. When such behavior is repeated day after day, it almost turns into collective abuse," said Baby Lasagna.
Although the song is inspired by his own experience, the musician emphasizes that 'Face On Your Phone' is not purely autobiographical. It is written from the perspective of anyone facing similar attacks, but instead of dwelling on victimhood, it offers a defiant and combative response.
Purišić explained that these negative experiences reminded him of the bullying he faced during his school days, but he deliberately chose to steer the song toward empowerment.
"I didn't want to write a song that leaves people in the role of the victim. I wanted to give strength to everyone going through such experiences. 'Face On Your Phone' is a battle cry that urges you to fight back against those who hide behind their screens," he said.
The single 'Face On Your Phone' continues the musical evolution hinted at by previous singles 'End the Party' and 'Sedated'. The sound is described as modern metal with elements of electronic and alternative pop, with Purišić citing Bring Me the Horizon as a key influence. Alongside him, the song was co-written by Dino Josipović and Matija Klaj.
