Bosnian striker Admir Bristrić is officially a new Leicester City player. The former English champions confirmed the arrival of the 23-year-old from Ljubljana's Olimpija, with whom he has signed a four-year contract, and he will be integrated into the first team led by coach Russell Martin.

Bristrić did not hide his excitement after the transfer was completed. "I feel proud, and it's incredible to be at a big club like Leicester. This is a huge step in my career, and I'm very excited to show the fans what I can do. I can't wait to meet everyone and talk to them, and I hope we can achieve great things together this season," Bristrić told the club's official website.

The Journey from Tuzla to England

The Tuzla-born forward took his first football steps at Zvijezda from Gradačac, before going through the youth systems of Mostar's Zrinjski and Tuzla's Sloboda. In 2021, he continued his career in Croatia by signing for Rijeka, and he got his first senior minutes on loan at Hrvatski dragovoljac.

In the Zagreb club's jersey, he made 14 appearances in the top tier of Croatian football and scored his first senior goal. In January 2023, a transfer to Olimpija followed, where he quickly made an impact, scoring four goals in his first 14 league matches, and the club finished that season with a domestic double in Slovenia.

Breakthrough at Bravo and the Call from Leicester

The 2024/25 season he spent on loan at Ukrainian top-flight side Polissya Zhytomyr, before returning to Slovenia, where he was loaned to Bravo for the 2025/26 season. It was at this club that he made a further leap - he finished the season as the team's top scorer with ten league goals and helped Bravo achieve a historic placement, third in the league, and secure a spot in the Conference League qualifiers.

His impressive performances did not go unnoticed, and after the season ended, Bristrić was also named the Slovenian league's Player of the Month for May. Now a new challenge awaits - he could make his debut for Leicester as early as Saturday in the season opener against Notts County in England's League One.

Young International with Six Goals

Bristrić has extensive experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina's youth national teams. He has played for all age groups from U17 to U21, scoring six goals in 14 appearances for the U21 side. Now he faces the biggest challenge of his career so far, aiming to make his mark at a club entering the new season with ambitions of climbing back up the English football ladder.
