The 33-year-old attacking midfielder, remembered for his winning goal against Dinamo at Poljud in 2019, has signed a contract until summer 2028 with a club in the third tier of Danish football.
Mohamed Jradi, the former Hajduk player who scored the only goal in the club's 1-0 victory over Dinamo at Poljud in August 2019, has signed a contract with Danish club B.93 until summer 2028, with an option for an additional season. The 33-year-old attacking midfielder thus returns to the club where he began his career, after a full 15 years away.
Jradi spent a total of nine years in B.93's youth categories and first team, recording 33 senior appearances and scoring eight goals before his first departure. B.93 currently competes in the third tier of Danish football, which surprised many who followed Jradi's career at higher levels of European and Asian football.
"I've been to many places since I left B.93, but returning home after 15 years is something special. This is where my football journey began, and now I want to give something back to the club and give my all. My goal is to help the team return to the level it belongs," Jradi said after signing the contract.
The return to B.93 also has a special background. Jradi has been struggling with knee problems for some time, and according to Tportal information, he was even advised to end his career. Nevertheless, he did not give up on football and decided to try to continue in a familiar environment. He was also of interest to certain Cypriot clubs, as well as several Danish second-division clubs from around Copenhagen, but ultimately chose to return to his parent club.
The Croatian public most often remembers Jradi for his stint in the Hajduk jersey, where he arrived in summer 2018 from Norwegian club Strømsgodset. For the Split club, he played 96 matches and scored seven goals. The most important of these came in August 2019 against Dinamo, when he scored the only goal of the match at Poljud, securing Hajduk's victory in the biggest Croatian derby. He left Hajduk in May 2021.
Jradi was born in Copenhagen and built his career across several continents. After leaving Hajduk, he continued playing in Cyprus, where he was engaged with Apollon Limassol and AEL Limassol, and between these two Cypriot stints, he spent two seasons with Thai side Bangkok United. Throughout his career, he also played for Danish clubs AB and Nordsjælland, and Norwegian side Lillestrøm. Although he grew up in Denmark, he represented Lebanon at the international level, earning 26 caps and scoring three goals.
Jradi's case is an interesting example of a player who, faced with a serious injury and advice to end his career, chooses an emotional return to his parent club instead of continuing at higher competition levels. The contract until summer 2028 gives him enough time to prove himself and potentially help B.93 return to higher tiers of Danish football, which he himself announced as a personal goal.
