Roadblocks and Bans at Poljud: Police Introduce Special Measures

Ahead of Sunday's match, the Split-Dalmatia Police Department has announced temporary traffic regulations and enhanced security measures in the Poljud area.

The Split-Dalmatia Police Department is introducing special security measures and temporary traffic regulations for the football match between Hajduk and Istra 1961. The match will be played on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 9:00 PM at Poljud Stadium.

The police have called on all citizens to follow the instructions of police officers and security staff to ensure the event passes without incident.

Intersection Blocked from 5:00 PM

The first traffic changes will take effect as early as 5:00 PM. Until the end of the security operation, the intersection of VIII Mediteranskih Igara Street and Sedam Kaštela Street will be blocked, specifically at the entrance to the Poljud swimming pool parking lot and the Hemingway facility. The blockade will not apply to public city transport vehicles or those with permits.

Additional Restrictions from 6:00 PM

From 6:00 PM, additional traffic restrictions will be introduced. These will cover Zrinsko-Frankopanska Street, from its intersection with Hrvatske Mornarice Street all the way to the entrance of the Lora barracks. Additionally, restrictions will apply to Put Supavla Street, starting from its intersection with Put Brodarice Street.

Only emergency vehicles, Croatian Army vehicles, residents' vehicles, public city transport, and vehicles with permits will be allowed to use these sections.

What Is Prohibited from Being Brought into the Stadium

The police also reminded the public of the legal provisions regarding the prevention of disorder at sporting events. It is strictly forbidden to bring alcohol, drugs, pyrotechnics, weapons, or other dangerous items into the stadium. Masking to conceal one's identity is also prohibited, as is displaying banners or symbols that incite hatred or violence. Any unauthorized entry into the competition or spectator areas is also punishable.

It was also announced that, in accordance with the Police Duties and Powers Act, the police will record the stadium and access routes before, during, and after the match.

The police once again appealed to all visitors to respect warnings and orders in traffic and at the stadium itself, and to follow the instructions of the security staff.
