On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Split's Poljud stadium will host the league match between HNK Hajduk and NK Istra 1961. The match kicks off at 9 PM, but special traffic regulations announced by the police will take effect much earlier. The first roadblocks in the vicinity of the stadium will be in place from 5 PM.
Four hours before the match, precisely at 5 PM, a roadblock will be set up at the intersection of VIII Mediteranskih igara Street and Sedam Kaštela Street. This area is near the entrance to the Poljud swimming pool parking lot and the "Hemingway" bar. Only public city transport vehicles and those with appropriate permits will be allowed to use these routes. The roadblock will remain in place until the end of police security operations.
An hour later, starting at 6 PM, the police will introduce additional roadblocks. These will cover Zrinsko-frankopanska Street, from the intersection with Hrvatske mornarice Street all the way to the entrance to Lora. Additionally, Put Supavla will be closed from its intersection with Put Brodarice. In addition to vehicles with permits and public transport, emergency vehicles, Croatian Army vehicles, and residents of the area will be allowed to use these routes.
The police have also reminded the public of the provisions of the Law on Preventing Violence and Misconduct at Sports Events. It is forbidden to bring alcohol, drugs, pyrotechnics, weapons, and any other objects that could be used to cause injury or incite disorder into the stadium. Furthermore, entering or remaining in the stands while intoxicated is not permitted.
It is also forbidden to mask one's face to conceal identity, to light or throw pyrotechnics, and to display banners or flags that incite hatred or violence on any grounds. The same rules apply to singing songs and shouting offensive messages. Spectators must remain only in the areas for which they hold a valid ticket.
The police have announced that, in accordance with the Law on Police Duties and Powers, they will conduct recording at the stadium and on approach routes before, during, and after the match. Additionally, they have issued a clear appeal to all visitors.
"We call on citizens to follow the guidelines, warnings, and orders of police officers in traffic and at the stadium, as well as the warnings and instructions of the stewarding service, so that the football match passes without incidents," the police stated.
Citizens who will be moving around the Poljud area on Sunday afternoon and evening are advised to expect traffic restrictions and possible congestion, and to use alternative routes where possible.
