Fans of Dynamo Kyiv sent emotional support to Bad Blue Boys ahead of the match against Viking, with a major choreography being prepared at Maksimir.
The Bad Blue Boys will mark their 40th birthday on Tuesday evening at Maksimir, during the most important match of the season for GNK Dinamo. In the first leg of the Champions League playoff against Norwegian side Viking, kicking off at 9 PM, the fan group has prepared a grand choreography, and from the stands they urge that it is crucial for the North Stand to be full at least half an hour before kickoff.
From the Bad Blue Boys, instructions for fans were posted on Telegram: arrive at the stand no later than 8:30 PM and follow the announcements over the PA system. "Our players need the best possible support and energy to carry them to the best possible result ahead of the return leg in Norway," they said.
Before the most important match of the season, the Boys received two greetings from Ukraine. Fans of Dynamo Kyiv, the WBC Kyiv group, took to Instagram to send support to their Croatian friends, with whom they have nurtured close ties for several years.
"Congratulations to our Croatian brothers on this important date!" reads the post published on Monday, while in today's message they greeted their friends with footage from the Ukrainian frontline.
"Greetings to the Bad Blue Boys from various corners of a fighting Ukraine! We wish you victories on all battlefields; may your club win new trophies, and may your movement remain steadfast before the enemy. Bad Blue Boys, Bad Blue Boys, God and cavalry, long live Dinamo and mother Croatia!" said the fans of the Ukrainian giant.
The two fan groups have enjoyed a friendly relationship for many years, with a mural bearing the crest of the Blues appearing in Kyiv a few years ago, while signs of the Kyiv club can be found in several places in Zagreb.
The 40th birthday celebration does not end with the match against Viking. In the Croatian capital, on August 30, a grand birthday concert will be held, featuring Prljavo kazalište, Psihomodo pop, Pips, Chips & Videoclips, and Jura Stublić and Film on stage.
Meanwhile, GNK Dinamo confirmed the transfer of Gabriel Vidović on their official Twitter profile. The former Blues player has left Maksimir and is returning to the Bundesliga, where he will represent Paderborn.
"Gabriel Vidović is no longer a Dinamo player - in a just-completed transfer, he has left Maksimir and is returning to the Bundesliga, where he will represent Paderborn. Dear Vida, thank you for everything and good luck in your new challenges! 💙," the club announced.
The club also shared photos by Luka Stanzl with the message: "He might not be the prettiest, but he's ready for the Champions League! ✨," hinting at the team's readiness for the European challenge.
