New Croatia national football team coach Slaven Bilić has yet to announce his official list of associates, but according to Večernji list, two video analysts are joining the Vatreni coaching staff. One of them is Alen Terzić, brother of former Borussia Dortmund coach and current Athletic Bilbao manager, Edin Terzić. The other is Jasmin Osmanović, a former associate of Nenad Bjelica at Dinamo.
In addition, it is speculated that Bilić's assistants will be Nikola Jurčević, Dean Računica, and Danilo Butorović, while Vatroslav Mihačić will take on the role of goalkeeping coach. The fitness coach will be Welshman Nick Davies, and a suitable role is still being sought for Aljoša Asanović. Another new addition is Italian set-piece specialist, 73-year-old Gianni Vio, who has worked with Roberto Mancini at the Italian national team, Antonio Conte at Tottenham, and US coach Pochettino during his career.
Alen Terzić was born on May 18, 1980, in Menden and holds both German and Croatian citizenship. His family came from the former Yugoslavia, with parents of Donji Vakuf and Osijek origin. He worked as a youth scout at Bochum and performed administrative duties at Wolfsburg before returning to Dortmund.
At Borussia, he held various roles: scout in the youth setup, opposition analyst for the U-19s, video scouting coordinator, and scout for the first team. His best moment at the club came in the 2018/19 season when he managed the second team. Before joining Borussia, he made his mark at amateur club FC Brünninghausen, where his greatest achievement was keeping them in the Oberliga during the 2016/17 season.
Meanwhile, Croatian international Petar Musa is shining in the MLS. The Croatian Football Federation tweeted that Musa scored the winning goal for FC Dallas against Austin (2:1) and returned to the top of the league's scoring charts. "#Croatia striker Petar Musa scores a great @FCDallas game-winner against Austin (2:1) and returns to the top of the @MLS top-goalscorers list!" the HNS post reads.
Slaven Bilić will announce his first Vatreni squad on September 7, 2026. The national team will gather for the first time on September 21 in Zagreb, then immediately head to Rijeka for preparations. The first match will be on September 26 in Prague against the Czech Republic.
