Gorica coach Mario Carević commented on the match at the press conference for the media, congratulating the guests on the win and expressing regret that his team took nothing after getting back into the game.
"Congratulations to Hajduk on the win; we are left with regret that we lost after getting back into the game. The second half was better; we pushed high and were good in the press. We had several situations where we must, but today we didn't, react better. We pushed a clean ball into pressure, didn't clear it, and from that situation we conceded a goal-that's what Hajduk punished because they have enormous individual quality. I think we pressed Hajduk well, but it's not easy because they have excellent mechanisms; they look for the extra man and find him. I can't fault my players for anything; we gave the maximum of maximums and ended up with nothing."
Carević then answered a question about concerns for the remaining 33 rounds of the championship, emphasizing that his team was competitive and good but must strengthen in certain positions.
"I think we were competitive and good, but we took nothing. We must strengthen in certain positions; that's a fact, not a secret. We are targeting reinforcements. We have a lot of juniors; we have 5-6 juniors on the bench, and I'm glad they're getting the chance, and they've shown it. Little Frigan is born in 2009, very potent, huge volume, and enormous football intelligence-he's really top, but I can't expect him to carry the game against Hajduk and take on responsibility. We will certainly develop several young players, but we need to bring in more meat so we have a better stimulus from the bench and a bit more quality."
