At a post office in Zagreb, customs officers discovered a significant quantity of marijuana on July 15, 2026, during a routine inspection of shipments. The drug was cleverly concealed in packages declared as instant noodles, with a total seized weight of 4,636 grams.
During the inspection of postal shipments in the customs procedure, officers singled out four packages that appeared suspicious. After a quick check, it was determined that all were addressed to the same recipient, with a total gross weight of 28.32 kilograms. The declarations listed food, specifically instant noodles, as the contents.
A detailed examination revealed that 72 packages indeed contained the original food, but in the remaining 72 packages, smugglers had hidden 80 transparent plastic bags of marijuana. The total weight of the seized drug was 4,636 grams, which is more than 4.6 kilograms.
Police officers also took part in the operation, and the discovered drug was immediately confiscated. The case has been forwarded to the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) of the Republic of Croatia for further action, as stated in the announcement from the Customs Administration.
