CE-ZA-R Dismisses Most's Allegations

The company CE-ZA-R, part of the CIOS Group owned by Petar Pripuz, dismissed on Wednesday allegations made by Most's MP Zvonimir Troskot regarding the illegal waste disposal affair in the Gospić area. In a response to tportal, the company emphasized that due to the ongoing criminal proceedings, they do not wish to delve into the details of the case, but stressed that their operations are conducted strictly within legal frameworks.
On Tuesday, commenting on the case of illegally disposed waste in Lika, MP Troskot called for a review of responsibility of several legal and natural persons. "It is important to move towards the actors, companies such as CE-ZA-R, Kemis-Termoclean, Gajeta d.o.o., Željko Teufel from the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, and Zabok General Hospital," Troskot stated. On the same occasion, he claimed that Josip Šincek, one of the suspects in the investigation, had been transporting waste to certain locations since 2019.
Željko Teufel, whom Troskot directly mentioned, is a member of CE-ZA-R's management board. In addition to this role, Teufel also serves as the president of the Association for Secondary Raw Materials, Collection, and Processing at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and heads the Group for Recycling of Metal Residues and Waste.
In their statement, CE-ZA-R made it clear that they do not intend to publicly discuss a topic that is the subject of an investigation by the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia. "Based on publicly available information from the media, and regarding the waste issue in the Gospić and Benkovac areas, we are aware that this very topic is the subject of criminal proceedings led by the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia against certain individuals. Precisely for this reason, we do not wish to comment, present, or cite facts and data that concern or are related to this topic," the response reads.
Despite refraining from commenting on the investigation, the company stressed that their operations are fully compliant with regulations. "What we can tell you is that our company conducts its activities within the scope of permits issued to the company and in accordance with the regulations governing its operations," CE-ZA-R stated.
Along with dismissing the allegations, the company also warned of the possibility of taking legal action against all those who, as they claim, harm their reputation with unfounded claims. "CE-ZA-R and its responsible persons reserve the right to take appropriate legal action against individuals who, by making unfounded claims, cause damage to their reputation and the company's operations," the response concludes.
It is worth recalling that due to the entire case of improper waste disposal in Lika, Most has demanded political accountability from the government and attempted to rally parliamentary clubs around an initiative to convene an extraordinary session of the Parliament and hold a vote of no confidence in the government.
