Renowned Croatian chef Mario Mandarić has announced an unusual and generous offer on his Facebook profile. He has decided to give away his holiday home, Holiday House Mia in Krapinske Toplice, to a single parent with children for a completely free week-long vacation.
The available period runs from Monday, August 24, to Sunday, August 30, 2026, and Mandarić has invited all interested parties to contact him via email at: [email protected].
In his post, the chef detailed what the family can expect. "The house has a pool, a trampoline, a kids' kitchen, a large yard, and plenty of space for the children to play while the parent gets some rest and a break from the daily grind," wrote Mandarić. He added that there is room for a few more people, so the parent can bring a friend, sister, brother, or someone else to keep them company.
The offer became even more enticing when friends from Aquae Vivae Krapinske Toplice | Thermal Spa joined in. This water park and wellness center, just a three-minute drive from the house, decided to treat the entire family to free water park tickets as well as complimentary access to the wellness area and saunas.
Mandarić emphasized that all information people send him will remain confidential. "We can arrange everything via messages; we'll explain how to get into the house and leave you to enjoy those few days in peace with your children," he said. In addition to nominating others, single parents can also apply for themselves.
