It's finally known who will stand across the net from Goran Ivanišević at the historic tennis spectacle at Split's Prokurative. The Wimbledon champion revealed in an interview with Slobodna Dalmacija that his opponent will be Borna Ćorić, the former world No. 12, who is returning to the court after an injury.

The exhibition match is scheduled for August 29, 2026, at 8 PM, as the highlight of the first edition of the "Tennis Summer by Goran Ivanišević" camp. The camp begins on August 17 and over two weeks will bring together young tennis players from Croatia and abroad at several city locations.

Thanks to Borna Despite the Awkward Timing

Ivanišević didn't hide his delight that Ćorić accepted the invitation, especially given the circumstances. "First of all, I want to thank Borna. He's returning from an injury, yet he agreed to have a bit of a 'roll around' on the court," said Ivanišević. He noted that the timing couldn't be worse, as the match takes place just two days before the start of the US Open. "Everyone is already in New York by then, both active and former players. That's the date we got, but I believe that Borna and I, along with Iva Majoli, will put on a nice gathering."

Majoli and the Mysterious Fourth Player

Alongside Ivanišević and Ćorić, the celebrated tennis player Iva Majoli will also appear on the court. "Borna and I will play. Iva Majoli is also a guest, and she'll play as well. We'll test our skills in doubles too, but I still need to find a fourth person," said Ivanišević. He added with a laugh that it could even be someone from the audience, but he did reveal: "For now, let's keep the fourth a secret. Everyone should be ready. But it will definitely be someone who knows how to play tennis."

Knee Under Control, Rich Program

Ivanišević admitted that his knee is bothering him, but he remains optimistic. "My knee is bothering me, but it's fine. Everything will be so beautiful that I believe it will hold up for that hour, hour and fifteen of play without any issues." The final day of the camp begins in the afternoon. From 1 PM to 6 PM, a Kids Day will be held at the Prokurative, where children and all interested can play on a unique tennis court. After the match, there will be a musical program featuring Jasna Zlokić, Madre Badessa, and Tonči Huljić.
