Legendary Croatian MMA fighter Mirko Filipović, better known as Cro Cop, often shares training photos on social media. Despite his retirement from fighting, he still trains diligently and keeps his body in shape, but that doesn't shield him from provocations and falsehoods that occasionally appear in the comments.
One such comment stood out for its sheer absurdity. An anonymous Facebook user wrote: "This commie and traitor of the highest order, Cro Cor (a punching bag, clearly insane, wasting his life lifting weights for nothing, his greatest achievement being Minister of Sports in the government of a Yugo-communist criminal)."
Filipović's Memorable Response
Filipović decided to respond to the insults in his own inimitable way. In his Facebook reply, he wrote: "Oh, my patriotic sunshine. Thank you for speaking up, because it's truly rare to see someone whose level of literacy and intelligence perfectly matches their physical appearance. I was never a minister in the government, and I must tell you something, though I don't know how you'll take it. There has been no communism since 1990! I believe you know we're in 2026. I know you're shocked and in disbelief right now, but that's how it is. It would be nice of you, in these sweltering days, to read something and educate yourself a bit. But if you read the way you write, it'll take a while, but progress must not be hindered. Malicious people would say there's no hope for your education because you look and write as if it's easier to shove a meter stick up your a** than a centimeter into your head, but my dear friend, nothing should discourage you from educating yourself and continuing to discover and guide us commies and traitors onto the right path. Best regards from your 'Cro Cor'!!"
He then added a postscript: "P.S. It would be nice, for your fans that you're sure to gain now, if you came and punched me too, since I'm a punching bag. Though, that requires balls a bit bigger than those needed for writing on FB, but I and everyone who reads this have no doubt in you."
Andrija Jarak's Reaction
Filipović's post also drew a reaction from renowned Croatian journalist Andrija Jarak, which brought additional attention to the discussion. The article about this event was published on August 17, 2026, and is carried by Večernji list.
