Dinamo has abandoned the return of Livaković due to Fenerbahçe's excessive transfer fee and has turned to bringing in Dominik Kotarski on loan from Copenhagen, which could be resolved before the playoff match against Viking.
Dinamo could soon resolve their goalkeeper issue by signing Croatian international Dominik Kotarski. According to Sportklub, the 26-year-old shot-stopper is set to join Maksimir on a one-year loan from Copenhagen.
The news comes from multiple sources connected to Danish football, as well as from managerial circles. There is no official confirmation from Dinamo yet, but it appears a deal is very close. If the transfer goes through, it would likely signal the end of Dinamo's intention to bring back Dominik Livaković.
Negotiations with Fenerbahçe over Livaković had already hit complications earlier. The Turkish club is reportedly asking between €4 and €5 million for the Croatian international, which Dinamo is currently unwilling to pay. As a result, Maksimir no longer wants to wait for the outcome until the end of the transfer window.
Telegram.hr reports that Livaković had already personally agreed with Dinamo, but now he must find a new solution. He has reportedly already turned down an offer from Olympiacos and has been linked with several Serie A clubs. Livaković had previously been on a half-season loan at Dinamo, which further fueled expectations of his return.
Kotarski was clearly one of the main alternative options, and his loan could be completed very quickly. If everything is finalized in time, he could be registered for the first playoff match against Viking, which takes place next Tuesday in Zagreb.
Dinamo is well known to the Croatian goalkeeper, as he came through part of the youth system at the Zagreb club. After that, he moved to Ajax, and upon returning to Croatia, he guarded the net for Gorica. A transfer to PAOK followed, where he spent three seasons and won the league title, while his latest career stop is Copenhagen, with whom he signed a five-year contract in the summer of 2025.
His arrival would bring additional quality and competition between the posts for Dinamo. However, the contract has not yet been officially verified, so we must wait for the final decision.
Alongside Kotarski, Dinamo currently has Ivan Nevistić, who particularly stood out against Kaunas, as well as Ivan Filipović and Danijel Zagorac. HRT Sport adds that Filipović received a red card against Kauno Žalgiris, leaving only Nevistić as an option, which likely accelerated the reaction of Dinamo's leadership, Zvonimir Boban.
Dinamo announced on their official Twitter profile the UEFA Champions League playoff match against Norwegian side Viking FK. The match will be played on Tuesday, August 18, at 9:00 PM at Maksimir Stadium.

Individual ticket prices range from €12 for the North lower tier (exclusively for members) to €28 for the West lower tier for other fans.
