In late June 2026, major road maintenance works began in the area of the former Taborec barracks in Samobor. The planned completion of all works is set for August 28.

Temporary Closures and Street Renovation

During the works, temporary traffic regulations are in effect. Vlade Gotovca Street is closed to all traffic from Mirnovečka Street to Ivana Gundulića Street. Additionally, the connection between Vladka Mačeka Street and Savke Dabčević Kučar Street is closed, as well as part of Savke Dabčević Kučar Street up to Željka Kovačića Street.

The renovation project for Vlade Gotovca Street includes the construction of new stormwater drainage, the arrangement of a pedestrian path, and a complete overhaul of the roadway. To improve safety and traffic flow, the connecting road between Vladka Mačeka Street and Savke Dabčević Kučar Street will be widened to six meters.

Pedestrian Zone in Front of the New School

A key development is the conversion of part of Vlade Gotovca Street in front of the entrance to the new school into a pedestrian zone. This measure aims to further enhance the safety of students and all pedestrians. In addition, the parking plateau will be renovated, with new pedestrian paths built on its southern and eastern sides.

New Signage and Permanent Traffic Changes

As part of the works, new horizontal and vertical traffic signage will be installed. New traffic signs will be placed in Mirnovečka Street at its intersection with Milana Langa Street, and in Ivana Gundulića Street at its intersections with Vlade Gotovca Street and Vladka Mačeka Street.

Once the works are completed, the entrance from Mirnovečka Street into Vlade Gotovca Street will remain permanently closed to all traffic, except in two cases. Access will be allowed only for the needs of the company Energometan d.o.o. and employees of Bogumil Toni Elementary School.

For all other users, including parents of students, access will be organized via alternative routes. Destinations can be reached from Ivana Gundulića Street or from Mirnovečka Street via Vladka Mačeka Street, passing by the Bunker to Savke Dabčević Kučar Street and the parking plateau.
