The final day of the prestigious water polo tournament is scheduled for Monday in Porto, with FUN H2O Mlini chasing a historic third consecutive title.
The semifinal day of the Wild League at Porporela brought thrilling matches and confirmed old rivals in the fight for the top prize. FUN H2O Mlini and Porporela secured their spots in the final, while Elita and Plaža Bellevue will face off for third place. The tournament's finale will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Porto.
In the first semifinal, FUN H2O Mlini defeated Plaža Bellevue 9:7. The Orange team opened the match furiously, winning the first quarter 2:1 and the second 2:0, building a significant lead. Although Plaža Bellevue showed character in the second half, particularly in the final quarter which they won 4:2, the deficit was too large for a full comeback. Toni Paskojević led the winners with three goals, while Luka Jovanović added two. For the losing side, Luka Kirigin was the most effective with three goals. The match was officiated by Nenad Periš.
In the second semifinal, Porporela outplayed Elita with a convincing 9:4. After an initial balance in the first two quarters (1:2, 1:0), Porporela broke the opponent's resistance in the third quarter with a 3:0 run, taking full control of the match. Mavro Farčić and Mario Sušić each scored three goals for their teams, but Farčić's Porporela had much greater attacking depth. Boris Ivaniš and Marko Bautović added two goals each for the winning side.
With this placement, FUN H2O Mlini secured their tenth medal in the tournament's history and their ninth appearance in the final. On the other hand, Porporela earned their sixteenth medal and will play for the championship title for the eighth time. Their last triumph came in 2023.
The final day in Porto kicks off at 4:00 PM with the third-place match between Elita and Plaža Bellevue. The grand final is scheduled for 5:45 PM, where FUN H2O Mlini has the chance to make history. If they win, they will claim a third consecutive title-something no one has ever achieved-and a fifth overall, making them the absolute record holders of the Wild League. Porporela, on the other hand, will seek to equal the Orange team's number of titles.
The semifinal day was also marked by changeable weather at Porporela, with sun and rain alternating, but that did not diminish the great atmosphere that accompanied all the contenders in the battle for a place in the final.
