Diocese of Dubrovnik Announces Program for Triduum and Procession

The Diocese of Dubrovnik has released the detailed schedule for the celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, traditionally held at the Cathedral of the Assumption. The program begins with a triduum on Wednesday, culminating on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with a solemn pontifical Eucharistic celebration.
The central Mass on the feast day itself, Saturday at 7:00 PM, will be led by Bishop Roko Glasnović of Dubrovnik. Following the Mass, the faithful will join the traditional procession with the image of Our Lady of Porat, which will conclude with a blessing in Dubrovnik's city harbor. For those unable to attend the evening service, Masses will be celebrated in the cathedral throughout the day at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 11:30 AM.
Preparation for the feast begins with a triduum led each evening at 7:00 PM by Rev. Josip Mužić, PhD, a professor at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Split. The triduum program also includes rich cultural content.
On the first day, Wednesday, August 12, following the evening Mass at 8:00 PM, a Concert in Honor of Our Lady will begin. On the second day, Thursday, August 13, after Mass, there will be Eucharistic adoration, and at 8:30 PM, organist Darko Kristović will perform an organ concert. On the third day of the triduum, Friday, August 14, the solemn first Vespers and Mass will begin at 7:00 PM.
