HAK warns of traffic accidents on highways A3 and A4, where traffic is moving at reduced speeds, while roadworks continue to hamper driving on numerous sections across Croatia.
On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac highway, at kilometer 25 between the Lučko and Buzin interchanges toward Lipovac, a traffic accident occurred. Traffic there is moving in two lanes with a speed limit of 80 km/h. Another accident was recorded on the A4 Goričan-Zagreb, at kilometer 94+100 between the Sesvete and Zagreb East interchanges toward Zagreb, where the speed limit has been reduced to 60 km/h.
The Croatian Automobile Club advises drivers to adjust their speed and driving style to road conditions. The road surfaces are, namely, wet and slippery in places.
In addition to extraordinary events, numerous roadworks are slowing traffic. On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac, until August 31, the Kraljeva Velika North and South rest areas are closed in both directions. Due to the relief of the approach to the Zagreb West interchange, until December 31, traffic is moving in one lane toward the City of Zagreb.
Until September 1, drainage rehabilitation is underway from the Popovača interchange to the Kutina interchange toward Lipovac. There, traffic lanes are narrowed. Until October 3, the carriageway toward Lipovac between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb West interchanges is closed, and traffic is redirected to two-way traffic on the carriageway toward Bregana.
On the A4 Goričan-Zagreb, until August 30, roadworks are ongoing on the Zagreb East-Popovec section. Toward Goričan, traffic is moving in one lane with a speed limit of 80 km/h, while toward Zagreb, traffic is moving in two directions on two narrowed lanes.
On state roads, a series of bans and closures are in effect. Until December 17, traffic is banned on part of DC2 between the intersection with ŽC4111 and the entrance to Vukovar. Due to the poor condition of the road surface and bridge, until January 31, 2027, traffic is banned for all vehicles on DC14 between Poznanovac and Dubovac.
Due to damage to the bridge over the Dobra River, until December 31, traffic is banned for vehicles heavier than 15 tons on DC42 in Hreljin Ogulinski. The same deadline applies to the ban on traffic for freight vehicles over 7.5 tons on the Erdut II bridge and on DC204 in Pribanjci.
On DC214, due to roadworks on the bridge in Gunja at the Gunja-Brčko border crossing, traffic is banned for freight vehicles and buses. On the Majstorska Road, DC547 Sveti Rok-Jasenice, due to road surface damage, traffic is banned for all vehicles until further notice.
Until September 15, a summer traffic ban is in effect for freight motor vehicles with a maximum permissible mass over 7.5 tons on certain state roads in Istria and the coastal area. Highways and state road DC1 are exempt. The ban applies on Saturdays from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM and on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
HAK warns that there are occasional delays on sections where roadworks are ongoing and on city roads. Therefore, drivers are left with patience and caution.
