One of the greatest tennis players of all time, Roger Federer, is spending his summer days in Croatia, and his vacation posts have thrilled his followers. After a stay on Lošinj, the 45-year-old Swiss arrived in Rovinj, where on Monday, August 10, 2026, he shared a series of photos on Instagram depicting a family idyll.
Federer captioned the post briefly: "A wonderful vacation with family," and the photos of crystal-clear sea, boat rides, and fairytale sunsets perfectly capture the atmosphere of his time in Istria. He also celebrated his 45th birthday in Croatia, and comments from his fans quickly flooded the post. "Welcome, legend," "There's no better place to celebrate a birthday than Istria," and "Happy birthday" are just a few of the many supportive messages.
Among the comments, one message from Croatian singer Tony Cetinski stood out. Proud of his hometown, he wrote to Federer: "Rovinj is the most beautiful city in the WORLD. My city. Welcome."
Before arriving in Rovinj, Federer spent a few days on Lošinj. The Hotel Bellevue in Mali Lošinj announced on August 6 that it had once again hosted the tennis legend in its restaurant, Matsunoki. Federer's connection to Lošinj spans years, largely thanks to his former coach and longtime friend, former Croatian tennis player Ivan Ljubičić, who runs a tennis academy on the island.
Since retiring from his illustrious career, Federer has devoted more and more time to his family. He has been married to his wife Mirka since 2009, when they became parents to twin girls, Myla and Charlene. Five years later, the family grew by two more members, twins Leo and Lenny. Although he long ago traded his tennis rackets for a quieter family life, Federer remains one of the greatest sports icons of all time. During his career, he won 20 Grand Slam titles and spent 310 weeks at No. 1 in the ATP rankings.
