Croatian actor Jan Kerekeš shared a disturbing experience from Varaždin on his Facebook profile. While walking to pick up his daughter from training on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, around 7 PM, a young girl approached him and asked him to buy her drugs.
As he described in a post shared by Zagreb.info and ePodravina, the girl addressed him directly: "Can you buy me 2 grams of Amnesia in this shop here?" Kerekeš, as he states, immediately understood what was going on, but wanted to test her determination, so he asked: "What should I buy you?"
"Fully aware that she was asking for drugs, she replied: '2 grams of Amnesia. They won't sell it to me,'" the actor recounted their exchange. After that, he told her: "Sweetheart, go home, your mom is waiting for you."
Kerekeš estimates the girl is around 12 years old. "She had beautifully done eyelashes and dreamy blue eyes, so I believe this wasn't her first Amnesia," he wrote, adding that he hopes her mother is waiting for her and will recognize her in the photo he posted.
What angered Kerekeš even more was that, after he refused, another man bought the drugs for the girls anyway. "But the main hero of this story is this grown man with blonde hair. When he looked around for the shop where he would buy drugs for the girls, his eyes were big and clear. He knows exactly what he's doing. He understands everything and consciously decided to do it. I hope you're proud of yourself. Shame on you," the actor said.
Alongside the photo of the girl and the man, Kerekeš also explained why he decided to share the whole situation publicly: "I'm sorry for photographing someone's children and the man who bought them drugs, but I hope this photo will help at least one child and at least one parent."
He especially appealed to the community: "If anyone ever sees my daughter or any of my friends in any of these roles, please photograph them and share them just as I did, because this must not happen."
Finally, he addressed the people of Varaždin: "People of Varaždin, this is not our Varaždin. I don't want to name the shop because I don't want to give them any publicity, and after all, it's probably all legal. Probably."
Kerekeš, who is often seen by audiences in performances across Podravina and Prigorje, shared the post on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
