The most famous walk in rock music history has gotten a new version. Over the weekend, the four actors set to portray the Beatles in the upcoming series The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event filmed a recreation of the iconic Abbey Road album cover, according to Billboard.
In footage shared by fans, Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), and Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) are seen crossing the road, then turning back for another take.
The real Beatles originally crossed the street in front of EMI Studios in London on August 8, 1969. That street gave its name to their eleventh studio album, also the last one they recorded together, although Let It Be was released afterward.
The project consists of four films, each focusing on a different band member. The series is slated for release in April 2028. Director Sam Mendes has not yet revealed any plot details, and this will be the first film project in history to secure rights to the Beatles' entire discography.
The actors were first introduced to the public on March 31, 2025 at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, during Sony Pictures' presentation at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Beyond the main four, the series boasts an impressive supporting cast. Leanne Best, niece of original Beatles drummer Pete Best, will play John's aunt Mimi Smith. David Morrissey will appear as McCartney's father, Jim McCartney, while James Norton will portray manager Brian Epstein.
Harry Lloyd will play producer George Martin, known as the "fifth Beatle," and Bobby Schofield will take on Neil Aspinall, the band's longtime friend and music director. Daniel Hoffman-Gill will appear as Mal Evans, Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, and Adam Pally as music manager Allen Klein.
Female roles are also covered by stellar names: Saoirse Ronan will play McCartney's wife Linda, Anna Sawai Lennon's wife Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood Harrison's wife Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce Starr's wife Maureen Starkey.
