The City of Zadar has initiated an open public procurement procedure of high value for the construction of the Murvica, Briševo Branch School. The project is estimated at €10,167,251, and consultations with interested economic operators have already been organized.
The procurement notice sets the deadline for bid submission as September 7, 2026. After that, it will be known who will be awarded the contract for the construction of this branch school. The project's realization is eagerly anticipated as it would relieve the main Smiljevac Elementary School, which is already quite burdened.
City officials emphasize that with the new school, students would spend significantly less time commuting, as the educational institution would be closer to them. Additionally, children would gain their own gymnasium, spacious outdoor school areas, and enriched extracurricular activities.
This significant investment in education would also bring another major advancement: achieving the goal of Croatian education announced by the Government of the Republic of Croatia several years ago, the introduction of single-shift operation and full-day school programs.
Parents are eagerly awaiting the construction of this school, especially because their children would attend classes within their local self-government unit, namely the Municipality of Poličnik.
