The City of Zadar has begun preparations for a public tender for the static renovation of the roof of St. Donatus Church. The estimated value of the works is €1.3 million, and ahead of the open public procurement procedure, the City has published a preliminary consultation with interested economic operators, as reported by Zadarski list.
The law stipulates that a consultation must be conducted before the tender is announced, during which interested contractors can review the prepared documentation and provide their comments or suggestions. The consultation will last until August 21, after which the City will analyze the submitted proposals, publish a report, and launch the open public procurement procedure for the selection of the contractor.
Years of Work on Documentation
The preparation of the intervention was preceded by years of work on documentation and assessing the condition of the building. In 2016, 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry techniques were used to record the existing state. The Archaeological Museum in Zadar began preparing documentation for the roof renovation in 2017, and the architectural and civil engineering static rehabilitation project was completed in June of this year.
Following the conclusion of the consultation and the public tender process, the contractor will be selected and the contract signed, enabling the start of the static renovation of the roof of St. Donatus Church.
Ministry Secures €600,000
The Ministry of Culture and Media has previously secured €600,000 for the City of Zadar for the preparation of documentation and roof rehabilitation works on St. Donatus Church for 2026, under the program for the protection and preservation of immovable cultural heritage. The allocation of funds is based on the Public Call for Proposing Public Needs in Culture of the Republic of Croatia for 2026.
