Hajduk is in negotiations with Dennis Hadžikadunić, a Bosnia and Herzegovina international center-back, who could join Poljud as a free agent. The talks are not yet concluded, but according to Tportal's information, there is hope that the whole story could result in a contract signing. The Split club has an easier task because the player currently has no contract, so they do not need to allocate funds for his transfer.

Experience from several strong leagues

Hadžikadunić has been formally a player of Russian club Rostov for the past eight years, but he spent a large part of that period on loan. Throughout his career, he has played for Malmö, Mallorca, HSV, and Sampdoria, which has given him broad experience in different leagues. Although he was born in Swedish Malmö and played for the youth national teams there, since 2020 he has decided to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He has collected 33 caps for the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina national team so far. At this year's World Cup, he was a member of the Bosnian squad. In the match against Qatar, he played 27 minutes and assisted Ermin Mahmić for his team's third goal in a 3-1 victory.

Hajduk seeks additional security in defense

Hajduk has shown quite a few problems in the defensive part of their game so far this season, so the arrival of an experienced center-back would give coach Gonzalo Garcia an additional option in the back line. As reported by 24sata, Robert Graf, Hajduk's sporting director, continues to strengthen the squad for the season, with a few weeks left until the end of the summer transfer window.

Hadžikadunić arrives with international experience and without a transfer fee, which makes him attractive for this transfer window. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is 1.2 million euros, and Rostov bought him in 2018 for one million euros. After four years, he returned to Malmö on loan, and then the Russian club sent him on loans to Mallorca, HSV, and Sampdoria, where he played last season.

There is still no official confirmation of a completed deal, but negotiations are ongoing and Hadžikadunić is a serious candidate for Poljud. Hajduk is close to the Conference League playoffs but has started the HNL season poorly with one loss and one draw.
